Community Invited to Give Input on Farmington Road Improvements
Aloha community is invited to contribute their opinions for improving Farmington Road. From now until June 1, Washington County’s Department of Land Use and Transportation has an online open house showcasing the Farmington Road Concept Plan. Feedback is needed on the plan’s improvement designs for Farmington Road between 209th Avenue and Kinnaman.
The goal of the open house is all about “seeing more people involved and hearing from as many different voices from different communities as possible.”
Associate Planner Miranda Seekins said the goal of the open house is all about “seeing more people involved and hearing from as many different voices from different communities as possible.”
Online visitors can read about the design plans, see detailed sketches, and provide feedback about bike lanes, sidewalks and more. Comments are also wanted about intersection improvements at Kinnaman, Rosa Road and 185th.
For example, Rosa Road is “kind of a tricky intersection,” Seekins said, “it comes out at an angle so it can cause some high speed turns. So, they're looking at two different alternatives.”
The next in-person opportunity will be at the Public Works Fair, 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Saturday May 17 at the Beaverton Farmers Market

There have also been in-person exhibits and surveys for the Farmington Concept Plan around the area. The next in-person opportunity will be at the Public Works Fair, 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Saturday May 17 at the Beaverton Farmers Market located in downtown Beaverton. If members of the public cannot make the event or have trouble with the online open house, they can reach out to lutplan@washingtoncountyor.gov.
“We would be happy to answer any questions or make accommodations for those who would like to leave comments,” Senior Communications Specialist Chris Lueneburg said.
“We would be happy to answer any questions or make accommodations for those who would like to leave comments,” Senior Communications Specialist Chris Lueneburg said, and so far they “have been impressed by the level of interest the community has had.”
There is not a set time for starting construction, as it will take time to finalize designs and fund the project, Lueneburg said. However, the plans will serve as a framework and “guide further design once funding is acquired and the project begins in earnest.”
