Using Buy Me a Coffee means that anyone can chip in on their own terms. Big or small. Regularly or just once. All support is welcome.
Free access to information is important to me. Everyone should be able to access reliable information about their specific community regardless of their budget. Substack does have a paid subscriber feature, but that requires readers to commit to a monthly payment. Being community funded can help keep coverage more independent.
How will my donation be used?
Despite the site name, it’s not just about coffee. All proceeds for the Aloha Free Press will be used as a fund for resources spent and supplies needed. If enough is raised, options for growth open up.
On any given week, I spend about 10-20 hours writing, attending meetings, researching, talking to sources, designing graphics and taking photos.
